Role and responsibilities

  • Instrumentation specification and standardisation for all transducers, cabling and connectors
  • Working to optimise and standardise test rig setup for instrumentation and communication
  • Optimising and driving Test control and data acquisition system setup and operation across the Test function, including working with systems suppliers of Test Equipment
  • Ensuring that clean and dirty earth strategies are best practice, documented and followed
  • Responsible for all Test Electrical documentation, both functional and safety related
  • Helping to drive the Test SOP to Quality standards
  • Working with Lead Test Engineer to ensure test calibration processes are understood and correctly performed
  • Ensuring that all relevant Quality processes and documentation is controlled
  • Attending project planning meetings where required
  • Providing training / mentoring of Test staff to keep up-to-date on all equipment and processes
  • Working within the H&S requirements for the operation of the test cells
  • Being able to follow internal standards and procedures including quality related requirements



  • Good knowledge and experience of AC traction motor and controller (inverter) systems
  • Expertise on EV motor and controller (inverter) testing
  • Knowledge of common EV DC Inverter systems and communications protocols
  • Previous experience within an EV test environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to different tasks
  • Good Word and Excel skills
  • Excellent documentation and traceability skills
  • Having a ‘hands on’ and ‘can do’ attitude
  • Being innovative, proactive and able to provide alternative solutions to issues
  • Experience with originating Quality, H&S and SOP document
