Saietta is a well-established British R&D company on a mission to accelerate the market introduction of highly innovative, affordable, and reliable propulsion motors for a broad range of electric vehicles (EVs) from scooters to buses. The product is proven, and market pull is strong. Since 2016 Saietta has undertaken rigorous R&D and testing for an innovative, unique motor topology, with low-cost raw materials, designed for low-cost, automated assembly. Saietta is now evolving from a pure R&D company into one that also manufactures its own motors in a new European production plant.

Overview:

This is a very exciting opportunity for an experienced technical Project Manager to join a successful and expanding automotive technology company. The company is involved with the design, development and manufacture of innovative electric motors and electric drive (e-drive) solutions for the electric vehicle marketplace.

The Project Manager

  • Ideally a passionate, proactive, self-starting, organised, efficient and technical individual
  • Experience with leading, planning and delivery of engineering development / manufacturing projects for customers
  • Experience gained within the automotive sector would be ideal but other industry sectors can be considered
  • Experience in gated project management processes
  • An interest in e-mobility / electric vehicles would be great

This role will involve supporting the Head of Projects with customer driven product development projects involving developing motor drive units for volume manufacture. It’s an exciting time for the company with lots of new projects being initiated. Hence, they seek a passionate, proactive, self-starting, organised and efficient individual to help plan, coordinate and deliver projects on time, to quality and within budget.

As Project Manager you will report to the Head of Projects and will lead, plan and deliver technical project goals in conjunction with department heads and senior personnel across the business from R&D, to production, test, and finance.

Experience of working directly with customer and delivering complex engineering product development projects is important.

This also may involve working with 3rd parties to implement new production / assembly lines or equipment to facilitate the reliable and high-volume manufacture of their complex electric motors. You will have a big part to play in maintaining product quality, creating efficient processes, and reducing product cost.

Required skills and experience:

  • A relevant qualification would be preferred (e.g., degree in engineering or similar)
  • Project related studies / qualifications would be preferred
  • Ideally a passionate, proactive, self-starting, organised, efficient and technical individual
  • Experience with leading, planning and delivery of engineering development / manufacturing projects for customers
  • Experience gained within the automotive sector would be ideal but other industry sectors can be considered
  • Experience in gated project management processes
  • An interest in e-mobility / electric vehicles would be great
